Cate Blanchett Talks About Plastic Surgery

Cate Blanchett is a spectacular Golden Globe winning Australian actress, known for starring in movies such as Elizabeth, The Aviator and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

The charming actress has been a willing proponent on the topic of unnecessary plastic surgery, discussing her dismay for unwarranted cosmetic procedures, also sharing her thoughts on the wonderful event, that is aging.
For me, I think what will be sexy in 50 years' time will be wrinkles. Plastic surgery not only removes the signs of age, but also exposes people's insecurity. Look at a man or a woman in their 50s and all I see when they have brushed their years away with surgery is self-obsession and fear. That's not particularly attractive.
I see someone's face, someone's body who'd had children and I think they're the song lines of your experience, and why would you want to eradicate that?
Ms. Blanchett is undoubtedly aging gracefully herself, perhaps directly attributed to passion for SK-II skin care products, which she became the global ambassador of a few years back.

Cate however will soon be venturing into the inevitable neighborhood of fifty, so it'll be interesting to see if she sticks to her guns and rejects plastic surgery. Or will she give-in to the temptations of a facelift, eye lift, brow lift and so on... I suppose only time will tell.
